There is a reason ancient people gathered at sacred stones when the sun stood still. The solstices — both summer and winter — mark more than just seasonal changes. They are cosmic thresholds. Openings. Invitations to stand still, realign, and root back into our personal power. But most of us aren’t taught how to pause. I spent a lot of my life chasing that which I was told I should achieve to be a “good” or “successful” human, forgetting to listen to and follow my own Soul whispers.
We are taught from a very young age to perform. Produce. Conform.
From the moment we’re born, we’re ushered into systems designed to program us to conform to a certain way of being — school, work, media, relationships — and somewhere along the way, many of us forget who we actually are. We forget our timing. We forget our truth. We trade sovereignty for survival. And the Earth becomes something we live on rather than with.
Living in the Matrix of “Shoulds”
If you’ve ever felt like your life isn’t your own, like you’re walking someone else’s path — you’re not crazy. You’re just waking up!
The matrix isn’t just a sci-fi metaphor. It’s the web of invisible conditioning that tells you:
- what success looks like
- how love is supposed to be
- when you’re allowed to rest
- who you should be to be accepted
And most of it? It’s not coming from people who have your best interest at heart.
The solstice is a moment in time we can use to crack us open to all the programming running inside you that is holding you back; making you feel out of whack; out of balance and unsure of who you are.
It offers a potent point in time — a rare moment when the momentum of modern life can be interrupted. And in that space, something ancient stirs if you are listening!
The Solstice Isn’t Just a Season — It’s a Portal
At this time of year, the sun appears to stand still — a poetic illusion, but a powerful metaphor. This pause is not about doing nothing. It’s about reconnecting with everything.
When you stand still with intention, you interrupt the cycle.
You stop the wheel.
You remember that you have a choice.
The solstice becomes an initiation — not into hustle, not into perfection, but into presence. Into your own rhythm. Into the untamed wildness beneath the surface of your “shoulds.”

The Tree Woman Invitation
In the Tree Woman process, we use the solstice as a gateway. Not just to paint, but to reclaim.
Reclaim your Soul.
Reclaim your intuition.
Reclaim your relationship with time, energy, earth, and the deep feminine that knows how to move in cycles — not straight lines like a walking zombie.
We don’t just “honour the season.”
We break spells of programming.
We rewild the soul.
We remember our place between Earth and sky — not as a servant of systems, but as a sovereign being.
Why This Matters Now
If you’re feeling trapped… uninspired… restless… like something deep inside you knows it’s time for more — this is the medicine.
Not a new strategy. Not another self-help book.
But a ceremony to remember what’s already inside you.
The Tree Woman Quest isn’t about painting pretty trees.
It’s about standing tall again.
Rooting into truth.
Letting the solstice crack open the next version of you.
Because when you come back to the rhythm of the Earth, you begin to break the rhythm of everything that isn’t real.
